After spending a week on the beautiful beaches of Martha’s Vineyard, basking in the sun whenever possible–with SPF 30+, of course–I think it’s crazy that out culture still loves the image of being “tan” and “sun kissed” even though we all know that UV rays can kill us. I wonder if sunbathing is hip for Millenials? The next generation certainly isn’t afraid to move to the beat of its own drum, shedding conventions for more sensible innovations. One would think that the cultural acceptance of “tan is beautiful” would go the way of the land line for Millenials: giving it up for a smarter solution. Perhaps “pallid is practical”…?
